In the study, 75 healthy adult participants were broken up into three groups. One group completed a brain training Decoder exercise, the second group played Bingo, and the third group played no game at all. Participants played their respective games for eight 1-hour sessions over the course of four weeks under the supervision of their research team.
At the end of the study, the researchers found that the participants who played the brain training game demonstrated better attention skills than both the participants who had played Bingo and those who had played no game at all. Furthermore, the researchers noted that the improvements were “significant” and “comparable to the effects of medication that doctors prescribe for the treatment of attention-impairing conditions, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).”
